# VibeClip

> VibeClip is a $5 Mac menu-bar app that rewrites the English you copy so it sounds natural and native, in your own voice. Select text in any app, press ⌘C twice, and a second later the rewrite is on your clipboard, ready to paste with ⌘V. It runs on Claude Haiku 5.5 with your own Anthropic API key.

VibeClip is for people who write English as a second language and post, message and email in it every day. There is no editor window and no app switching: the copy gesture is the whole interface.

## Key facts

- Platform: macOS 26 or later. Menu-bar app, not on the App Store.
- Price: $5 for the app. Rewrites are billed by Anthropic to the user's own API key; a typical rewrite costs a fraction of a cent.
- Model: Claude Haiku 5.5 (Anthropic), called directly from the Mac with the user's key. VibeClip has no servers and no accounts.
- Trigger: press ⌘C twice within about half a second. A single copy stays a normal copy.
- Works in any app where you can copy text: browsers, X, Slack, Mail, Telegram, Notes. Can be limited to chosen apps.
- Keeps your voice: free-text style notes plus examples of your own writing guide every rewrite (for example casual and lowercase for X, warm and professional for email).
- Nothing is lost: the last ten before-and-after pairs live in the menu bar; ⌥⌘Z restores the original.
- Privacy: API key stored in the macOS Keychain; password-manager copies are skipped unread; history is in memory only.
- Updates: the app updates itself (Sparkle); a found update shows as a quiet chip in the menu bar panel, never a pop-up.
- Language: English today; more languages are planned.
